Athlete registration is now open for the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) 2023 Africa Championships for Juniors and Seniors, taking place in Luanda, Angola from 15-17 September 2023.
Hosted by the Angolan MMA Federation (FAMMA), the event marks the first IMMAF Africa Championships to be held outside of South Africa.
All participants and delegates must be pre-registered for the event using the IMMAF Online Registration System: smoothcomp.com. The deadline for Pre-Registration is September 7, including the completion of medicals, competition fees and all other required documents. For those wishing to watch, the event will be streamed live worldwide on immaf.tv.
Throughout the four days of competition, the athletes will compete per the latest IMMAF Amateur rules for Juniors (Under 21 Years Old) and Seniors (18 Years Old and Above).
The 2023 IMMAF Africa Championships will hold six weight divisions for female athletes, from 105lbs (Atomweight) up to 155lbs (Lightweight). There will be ten weight classes for the male athletes, from 115 (Strawweight) up +265lbs (Super Heavyweight).

The 2022 IMMAF Africa Youth MMA World Championships saw over 60 athletes compete, representing nine African nations. Team South Africa topped the overall medal table, with this year’s host nation, Angola, coming in just behind.
