7th Edition HR Café  » The Workforce of Today – Attracting and Retaining Gen Zs. »

Talent Lab, one of the leading HR management companies in Mauritius, is pleased to announce its upcoming 7th Edition of HR Café in partnership with Nespresso taking place on the 16th of September 2023 at Sasha The School, Curepipe.

Since its establishment in August 2021, HR Café has fast become a dynamic platform for employers, business owners, HR enthusiasts, leaders, researchers, entrepreneurs, and forward thinkers to engage in discussions and debate on contemporary people—related topics. We aim to facilitate knowledge exchange and foster collaboration within the business community.

Expanding on the previous edition (which analysed current workforce challenges in general terms), we will now explore what is now a cause of sleepless nights for many of our HR Café followers: « The Workforce of Today: Attracting and Retaining Gen Zs  » .

Gen Zs are the youngest generation on the job market. The seventh edition indeed serves to h ighlight the unstable nature of Gen Zs, their inability to commit themselves to organisations over the medium to short term and their changing values and beliefs. Who adapts to who in this equation? For one, employers and managers will probably have some work to do here. Are we ready, and do we know what is required of us to successfully retain them, if this is at all possible? By addressing the specific needs and desires of this generation, how can organizations reduce turnover costs, foster innovation, and build a more inclusive and diverse workforce, ultimately ensuring long – term success in the evolving world of work.

The panel will comprise four highly regarded experts, meticulously chosen for their practical knowledge and proficiency within their specific areas of business. Each panellist brings unique insights into the initiatives undertaken within their organization s and will share their observations on the evolving employment landscape. The panellists are Sasha Mosafeer, Ashvin Pudaruth, Daniella Bastien and Yamal Matabudul.

Beyond the formal session, participants network and engage in further discussions in relaxed and informal setting around a warm cup of Nespresso coffee. The post—event gathering facilitates meaningful connections and provides a platform for ongoing dialogue on the themes explored during the session.

Sasha the School will host this 7th edition. A branch Maison Sasha, the state of the art chain of beauty saloons on the island, the School specializes in providing training in the fields of hairdressing and aesthetics. Their program offer valuable vocational education for individuals aspiring to purs ue careers in the beauty and grooming industry. Maison Sasha’s commitment to addressing the workforce challenges of our time makes them an ideal partner for this event, as their expertise and efforts directly contribute to the broader discussion on talent retention and attraction within the Gen Z workforce.

Since its beginning, HR Café takes place around extraordinary coffee experiences provided to all members and guests by our coffee partner, Scott & Co Ltd, exclusive distributor of Nespresso in Mauritius.
