PPI-A, which was 174.6 in June 2023, decreased by 1.5% to reach 172.0 in September 2023. The monthly changes were as follows: July (+1.9%),
August (+1.5%) and September (-4.7%).
The index for the sub-group « Crop products », which carries 55.9% of the total weight, increased by 0.8% from 190.2 in June 2023 to 191.8 in
September. The monthly changes were as follows:
July (+1.8%),
August (+2.4%) and
September (-3.3%).
The index for the period July to September 2023 was 267.8 based on the forecasted price of sugar for the crop year 2023-2024. This represents an
increase of 1.7% over the price of sugar for the crop year 2022-2023.
