The airmass is moist and unstable over our region.Active clouds associated with remants of ‘GAMANE’ are approaching Mauritius from the Northwest and will influence the local weather as from late this afternoon.
Moderate to heavy showers, with thunderstorms are expected as from late this afternoon and will
persist tonight and tomorrow.
These showers may cause water accumuation in usual places.
A heavy rain WATCH is therefore in force in Mauritius.
Practical advice:
In case of heavy thundery showers, it is advised to:
1. remain in safe places;
2. avoid open areas, hikings, sea ventures and sheltering under trees;
3. avoid places prone to water accumulation; and
4. be very cautious on the roads due to reduced visibility resulting from heavy showers and fog
patches.
