The National Assembly mourns the death of the Serjeant-at-Arms, late Sub-Inspector Anirood Bundhoo, who passed away on Thursday 04 April 2024 at the age of 62.
Mr Bundhoo joined the Police Force on 09 May 1988. On 26 August 1997, he was posted at the Government House and since then he has been instrumental in ensuring the security of the Government House and the precincts of the National Assembly.
During his long and dedicated 36 years of service in the Police Force, Mr Bundhoo has served the National Assembly as Serjeant-at-Arms from 23 March 2021 until his last breath. During his tenure of office to this prestigious post in Parliament, he displayed a high sense of responsibility and professionalism.
Mr Bundhoo will be remembered for his marked sense of duty and discipline among his fellow colleagues and Members of the National Assembly.
