Absa Bank (Mauritius) Limited announced the successful completion of its acquisition of HSBC domestic Wealth and Personal Banking and Business Banking businesses and to welcome the customers and employees who have transitioned to Absa Mauritius.
This milestone marks a proud moment in the history of Absa Mauritius and a pivotal moment in its journey of growth and expansion.

As part of this transaction, Absa Mauritius has put in place a number of measures to ensure that the migration and welcome of new customers take place under the best possible conditions. To this end, we have deployed a dedicated facility at Tribeca Mall, where Personal Banking customers can collect their Welcome Packs. These include all the necessary information and tools to help them get started with their banking journey at Absa Mauritius. The distribution of packs started on 1 July and will continue until 14 July.
Absa Mauritius further extends a warm welcome to the 67 new colleagues joining the Absa family from HSBC. As part of the onboarding experience, a tailor-made induction programme has been designed for them and started on Monday 8 July. The programme is set to offer a thorough introduction to Absa culture, values, and operational practices, ensuring that the new colleagues are able to have a smooth integration into Absa Mauritius.
In addition, Absa Mauritius is also delighted to announce the opening of its new branch at Bagatelle Mall, now fully operational and ready to serve its valued customers. This will further enhance Absa’s ongoing commitment to providing accessible and convenient banking services.
This acquisition reinforces the commitment of Absa Bank Mauritius to the local Retail and Business Banking market and to expand as an influential role-player in the Mauritian economy.
