Overnight, ANCHA has maintained its intensity as a moderate tropical storm and continued to move toward the south west at about 15 km/h.
At 09h00 on the 3rd october 2024 it was centred around the point 13.0 degrees South in latitude and 72.9 degrees East in longitude, at about 1800 km to the North East of Mauritius and 1250 km to the North East of Rodrigues.
Available information and model outputs indicate that the system will maintain its movement towards the south west for the next two days. Also, the models are in agreement that environmental conditions are less favourable for further development. There is no models consensus on the trajectory of the system after Friday.
It will not influence the weather over the Mascarene Islands for the next two days.
