Air Mauritius and Polytechnics Mauritius Ltd (PML) announced jointly the Signature of a landmark agreement aimed at advancing Aviation Education in Mauritius. This collaboration has been formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) that provides a comprehensive framework for cooperation between Polytechnics Mauritius and Air Mauritius. T
he MoA focuses on the training of students in the fields of Aviation and related disciplines, specifically including Aircraft Engineering, Aviation, Avionics, Pilot Training, Hospitality and Cabin Crew training, Ground Handling, IT, Soft Skills and International Logistics. This partnership aims at enhancing the quality of education and training in these critical areas, ensuring that our graduates are competent and apt to provide a high-quality level of service for Air Mauritius. Through this partnership, Air Mauritius and Polytechnics Mauritius are crafting a new dimension to the Education Hub.
A key feature of the MoA is the pathway it establishes for the direct employment of students upon successful completion of their programmes. This initiative will enable graduates to contribute meaningfully to the aviation sector, a significant area of economic activity in Mauritius, thus supporting national growth and development.
Additionally, the MoA outlines provisions for the training of in-house personnel at Air Mauritius, promoting capacity building and ensuring the continued professional service that Air Mauritius is proud to provide to its customers and the public. This commitment to ongoing training will lead to the re-skilling and up-skilling of existing staff and further strengthen the operational capabilities of Air Mauritius.
In his remarks, the Chief Executive Officer of Polytechnics Mauritius, Mr Yamal Matabudul, stated, “This is a new dawn for Polytechnics Mauritius – now a privileged partner of Air Mauritius. “Skilling for the Skies” is now a reality. We are proud to collaborate with our National Carrier to ensure the middle management, technologists and technicians to fuel Air Mauritius ascension into higher skies”.
« By collaborating with Polytechnics Mauritius Ltd, we are investing in the future of Air Mauritius. This partnership ensures that we not only continue to uphold our commitment to safe and efficient air travel but also cultivate a workforce capable of driving innovation and excellence in the years ahead.
