At 10h00, the tropical disturbance ‘B’ was centred near 10.0 ‘S and 76.0 ’E and is moving in a general west-south-westly direction at about 10 km/h.
Weather Outlook:
The latest numerical weather models are in agreement indicating that the system will enter into favourable environmental conditions for further intensification and there are chances that the Tropical Disturbance may reach Naming Stage tomorrow Thursday 14 November 2024.
As from Sunday 17, the weather will become windy with passing showers over Rodrigues. As the system approaches our region, the Wind will gradually strengthen from the South-East at 50 km/h with gusts of the order of 90 km/h. The sea at Rodrigues will gradually become rough to very rough with swells.
On this scenario, the storm is expected to move in a south-westerly direction and will be in the vicinity of Mauritius on Thursday 21. The weather will then become showery and wind will strengthen with gusts of the order of 80 km/h. Sea will become rough to very rough with swells.
