High-energy swells are approaching the Mascarenes from the South and will influence the sea state around Rodrigues.
The open sea will become very rough with swells and the waveheight will gradually increase to the order of 4 metres as from late afternoon.
The waves will also influence the western and southern lagoons and may break along the low-lying coastal areas.
Heavy swell warning for Rodrigues issued at 10h00 on Wednesday 25 September 2024 valid from 16h00 today till 10h00 tomorrow Thursday 26 September 2024.
Fishermen, pleasure-craft users and the public in general are strongly advised not to go out at sea and not to venture along those beaches.
