Population and Vital Statistics, Republic of Mauritius, Year 2018

As at 31 December 2018, the population of the Republic of Mauritius stood at 1,265,637 representing an increase of 328 persons over the population at 31 December 2017.

The number of live births registered during the year 2018 was 12,965, that is, 514 more than in year 2017.
Deaths
There were 10,787 deaths registered during the year 2018 as compared to 10,140 in year 2017.
Infant Deaths
The number of infant deaths registered during the year 2018 was 181 against 164 in year 2017.
Still Births
The number of still births registered during the year 2018 was 130 compared to 135 in year 2017.
Marriages
The number of marriages registered in the year 2018 was 10,034 compared to 9,757 in year 2017.
