Admission to Grade 1 2020 in Primary Schools

The provisional list of pupils to be admitted to Grade 1 in January 2020 will be displayed in all Government and Aided primary schools in the Republic of Mauritius on Wednesday 21, Thursday 22 and Friday 23 August 2019.

Representations, if any, will be registered at the school where admission was applied for, on Wednesday 21, Thursday 22 and Friday 23 August 2019 from 09 30 to 15 00.

Late applications will also be registered on these days and times at the school where admission is sought. Responsible parties should bring along the following documents:
(i) their original National Identity Card;
(ii) the original Birth Certificate of the child
(iii) the original CEB and CWA bills in their own name for the months of May, June and July 2019; and
(iv) in case of request for high demand schools, a proof of residence, certified by the police. (Proof of residency form is available at school).

The Ministry wishes to remind parents that primary schooling is compulsory and that any person who deprives his/her child of his/her right to education may be liable to a fine not exceeding Rs 10,000 and to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years.
