Prix Nicolas Lambert 2019

The ‘Prix Nicolas Lambert’ is dedicated to excellence in journalism and is a unique opportunity for Mauritian and Rodriguan journalists to be celebrated and recognized. An independent panel of judges will designate the Mauritian or Rodriguan journalist who has excelled throughout the year.

Categories

Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:

· Print Journalism – features/ articles published in local newspapers

· Photo Journalism – published photo with a caption

· Radio Journalism – broadcast material on local radio

· Multimedia Journalism – online broadcast/ TV broadcast/ published material

· Investigative Journalism – Media Trust & Transparency Mauritius Award for best investigative article

In addition to the above, prizes will also be awarded in the following categories for Prix Nicolas Lambert 2018:

· Gender-sensitive Reporting

· Economy & Finance

· Sustainable Development

· Sports

· Cartoon (Caricature)

Who can Enter?

The competition is open to Professional Journalists and Photojournalists, working in Mauritius and Rodrigues, who have produced a story, which has been made available as a printed publication or broadcast through an electronic medium (television, radio or digital platform) whose primary audience is based in Mauritius or Rodrigues.

What the Judges are looking for?

Our panel of independent, highly respected and experienced judges is looking for excellence in the following:

§ Entry was broadcast or published between January and December 2019

§ Entry tells the story in a balanced, comprehensive and objective manner

§ Demonstrates journalistic research, innovation and integrity

How to Enter:

Entries must be in English, French or Kreol

§ A maximum of TWO (2) entries per participant across all categories will be accepted

§ All story materials must be submitted in electronic format as follows:

· PRINT – PDF (scanned) copy of the published article.

· RADIO – SOUNDCLOUD Link

· DIGITAL – Working Link (URL). Screenshots of websites are not accepted.

· PHOTO – Email attachment of the photo(s) as well as a Scan(s) of where the photo was/ were published. Maximum File Size: 10MB. Allowed extensions: png, gif, jpg, jpeg

· TV – Upload on Youtube

The Awards Ceremony will be held by mid-February 2020. (Exact date & Venue will be confirmed in due course)

The deadline for submission of entries is Friday 10th January 2020.
