2 min readThe Charles Telfair Campus and its main academic partner, Curtin Mauritius, are proud to announce a new partnership with Toulouse Business School (TBS), a highly prestigious, triple-accredited French university with campuses in Toulouse, Paris, Barcelona and Casablanca.
Announcing the partnership, Dr Jeremy Charoux, Executive Director of the Charles Telfair Campus (CTC), commented: “This partnership is a very important milestone for our campus. As the island’s leading private tertiary institution, CTC/Curtin Mauritius has a crucial role to play in leading the efforts of Mauritius in becoming an international student hub. As such, global partnerships with prestigious institutions such as Toulouse Business School are vital in increasing our reputation as a credible, high-quality education destination”.
Professor Lina Pelliccione, Pro-vice chancellor and President of Curtin Mauritius commented: “For the first time, eligible students studying for a Curtin University degree will be able to study two years at Curtin Mauritius, followed by one year at any of the TBS campuses.” Upon successful completion, students will be awarded: A Bachelor of Commerce degree from Curtin University and a Bachelor of Management degree from Toulouse Business School. This is a first for Mauritius, whereby students will be able to graduate with a dual Australian and French degree. A reciprocal arrangement will also be in place for TBS students who wish to study at Curtin Mauritius. Another major benefit of the programme is that it provides students with the opportunity to experience a diverse cultural immersion abroad as well as the advantage of developing valuable international networks.
Professor Pelliccione stresses however that the entry requirements into the double-degree programme will be stringent, with only the top performing second-year Bachelor of Commerce students studying at Curtin Mauritius eligible for entry. In addition, the partnership with TBS allows for shorter duration semester exchanges as well as entry for Curtin Mauritius students into the TBS summer and winter school programmes.
Our teaching staff will also be invited to participate in a teaching exchange programme with TBS. Mrs. Kanya Santokhee, Head of Marketing at the Charles Telfair Campus, elaborated: “Two of our academic staff recently delivered teaching programmes at the Toulouse campus and felt enriched as a result of their exposure to international practices while sharing their own expertise.”
