The active clouds which were influencing the local weather have moved away from our region towards the West. The heavy rain warning has therefore been lifted at 04h30 this morning.

However, the airmass over our region remains moist and unstable, which is conducive for the formation of active clouds over the island this afternoon.

Moderate showers with thunderstorms are expected this afternoon to the West, North and over the central plateau. These showers may be heavy at times, thereby causing temporary water accumulations in some regions.

A Heavy Rain Watch is in force in Mauritius.
