Consumer Price Index for April 2023

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) decreased by 0.1 point or 0.1% from 131.1 in March 2023 to 131.0 in April 2023.

Year-on-year (Y-o-y) inflation worked out to 8.3% in April 2023, compared to 11.0% in April 2022.

Headline inflation for the 12-months ending April 2023 worked out to 10.9%, compared to 7.0% for the 12-months ending April 2022.

Y-o-y CORE1 inflation stood at 7.6% in April 2023, compared to 8.6% in April 2022 while, y-o-y CORE2 inflation worked out to 6.3% in April 2023, compared to 7.0% in April 2022.
