Zambian Parliamentary Committee visited the Mauritius National Assembly

A twelve-member delegation of the Zambian Parliamentary Committee on Media, Information and Communication Technologies, led by the Hon. Eng Raphael Mabenga, MP, Chairperson of the Committee is presently on a study visit to the Mauritius National Assembly.

The main objective of the mission is to learn best practices and share experiences on matters pertaining to cyber security.

The programme of visit started on 02 May 2023 with a briefing on the Mauritian Parliamentary System by Urmeelah Devi Ramchurn, Deputy Clerk and Navin Gopall, Clerk Assistant.

The delegation also paid a courtesy call on Sooroojdev Phokeer, GCSK, GOSK, Speaker of the National Assembly. The Chairperson and Members of the delegation and Mr Speaker exchanged views in regard to parliamentary practices.

The delegates will have a meeting with Mr Kavish Pultoo, Director of Government Information Service. The delegation will also pay a courtesy call on Darsanand Balgobin, Minister of Information Technology, Communication and Innovation followed by a working Session with Mrs S Valère-Bolli, Permanent Secretary and officers of the Ministry, officers of the National Computer Board and the CERT-MU under the purview of the Ministry.

During the study tour, the delegates will undertake guided visits to the Aapravasi Ghat World Heritage Site and the Le Morne Cultural Heritage Landscape and Monument of Nature.
