2. Evolution of the severe tropical storm FABIEN
The environmental conditions near the equatorial region is marginally favourable for the evolution of FABIEN as a severe tropical storm today.
Available Numerical Weather Prediction products are in consensus that the system is expected to move slowly in a west-south-west direction and enter a region where the atmospheric environment will become less favourable as from tomorrow.
FABIEN is then expected to weaken into moderate tropical storm. After Monday 22 May, the system is expected to track in a general westerly direction while weakening further. Since, the severe tropical storm FABIEN is evolving very far to the North-East of the Mascarenes,
It will not influence the weather over the islands for the next five (5) days.
