Producer Price Index – Agriculture for 1 st Quarter 2023
1 min readPI-A, which was 151.0 in December 2022, increased by 7.3% to reach 162.0 in March 2023. The monthly increases were as follows: January
(+1.6%), February (+1.2%) and March (+4.3%).
In January, this index decreased by 1.0%, mainly due to decreases in the prices of eggs (-9.3%). In February, the index fell by 5.5%, mainly due to
decreases in the prices of eggs (-32.9%). In March, the index rose by 0.1%, mainly due to increases in the prices of cattle (+2.1%).
The overall index for the first quarter of 2023 increased by 2.5% when compared to the previous quarter and by 10.5% when compared to the
corresponding quarter. Percentage changes on a quarterly basis and the net contributions of commodity groups and products to the overall
index.
