Active clouds coming from the North will cause moderate to heavy showers at times.
In the afternoon, there will be moderate to heavy showers with thunderstorms over the Southern and Western parts of the island and over the central plateau.

A heavy rain watch is in force in Mauritius as from 09h30 on Saturday 21 January 2023.

Practical advice:
During thunderstorms, the public is advised to remain in safe places and avoid open areas, sea ventures and sheltering under trees.
Visibility will be greatly reduced in showers and mainly due to fog. Road users are advised to be very cautious.
