The production of sugar cane decreased by 15.5% from 2,669,667 tonnes in 2021 to 2,256,806 tonnes in 2022. The area harvested decreased from 41,897 hectares in 2021 to 39,199 hectares in 2022. The average yield has decreased by 9.7% from 63.72 tonnes per hectare in 2021 to 57.57 in 2022.

The area under tea plantation in 2022 was 659 hectares, representing a decrease of 1.5% over the figure of 669 hectares in 2021. The production of green tea leaves went up by 26.2% from 5,034 tonnes in 2021 to 6,351 tonnes in 2022.

The area harvested under food crops for open fields decreased by 3.3% from 7,951 hectares in 2021 to 7,692 hectares in 2022. The production of food crops increased by 4.0% from 101,901 tonnes to 105,974 in 2022.

In 2022, the production of beef from live cattle was 2,071 tonnes, which is 13.6% higher than the figure of 1,823 tonnes registered in 2021. Beef production from the slaughter of imported cattle, accounting for 94.1% of the total production, increased by 7.5% from 1,812 tonnes to 1,948 tonnes. Local beef production also went up from 11 tonnes to 123 tonnes.

The production of poultry increased by 13.4% from 49,100 tonnes in 2021 to 55,700 tonnes in 2022.

Total fish production increased by 15.6% from 28,769 tonnes in 2021 to 33,254 tonnes in 2022. This increase was attributable to a rise of 15.1% in the production of other catch (tuna, bank etc) from 27,629 tonnes in 2021 to 31,812 tonnes in 2022, as well as an increase of 26.5% in the production of fresh coastal fish catch from 1,140 tonnes in 2021 to 1,442 tonnes in 2022.
