Lloyd’s appoints new General Representative in Mauritius

Lloyd’s, the world’s specialist insurance and reinsurance market, has appointed Mr Shiamdass Appannah as Lloyd’s General Representative in Mauritius.

Shiamdass will promote the Lloyd’s market, develop and strengthen Lloyd’s relationships in Mauritius
as part of Lloyd’s growth strategy in emerging markets.

After a long career at Africa Re Shiamdass co-founded a successful reinsurance broker in Mauritius which has offices in Africa and London.

He will report into Amit Khilosia, Lloyd’s Regional Manager, Africa.

Amit Khilosia, Lloyd’s Regional Manager for Africa said:
“I am delighted to welcome Shiamdass to Lloyd’s. He brings over 40 years of in the reinsurance industry and in Africa. Lloyd’s is well positioned to promote the solutions needed locally and Shiamdass will provide an important conduit for local businesses, brokers and insurers to the specialist capacity and expertise that Lloyd’s underwriters and brokers offer.”
