Tourlane, the leading online travel agency for personalized vacations, has conducted a study to determine how expensive a weekend at Oktoberfest is, and what surprising destinations are cheaper than a weekend at Oktoberfest.

Based on the costs of accommodation, roundtrip flights, ground transportation, food, drinks, activities, and souvenirs, the price per person for a weekend at Oktoberfest is € 1,356.56. This makes three days at the famous festival more expensive than a week in some of the most exciting countries in the world for German travelers.

German travelers thinking about a quick last minute weekend trip to Oktoberfest will spend less for a week overseas according to new research from the leading online travel agency for personalized vacations, Tourlane. Tourlane analyzed top travel itineraries and put together route recommendations from their team of experienced travel experts to find out what the budget for a weekend trip to Oktoberfest could buy travelers elsewhere. The result is a study that shows the most beautiful destinations at the best price-performance ratio. Most interestingly, the destinations are some of the most exciting in the world – typically considered dream vacation destinations – including Mauritius, Panama, Seychelles, Jordan, and Morocco.

« Every year thousands of German travelers plan a visit to Oktoberfest. But we wanted to find out what kind of vacations they could experience for the same amount of money. We are excited to show travelers a variety of amazing destinations that they can travel to for even less than a weekend break in their home country,” noted Manuel Stegmann, Head of Travel Product at Tourlane.
