Construction Price Index – 4th Quarter 2018

The Construction Price Index which stood at 119.0 in the third quarter of 2018, registered a contraction of 0.1 point (0.1%) to reach 118.9 in the fourth quarter of 2018.

During the fourth quarter of 2018, decreases were noted only in the “Materials” sub-index (0.1 point).

The decrease registered in the “Materials” sub-index was mainly due to:
(i) decreases in the prices of steel bars in October (0.3%) and
(ii) decreases in the prices of sanitary installation in October (0.2%).
